Zoe was referred to the EHU as the electricity supply to her fitness studio had been disconnected 6 weeks previously.
A payment plan had been in place for a debt balance on her electricity account. She had informed her supplier she would be unable to make the payment one month and would continue as agreed the following months, which she duly did however, her supplier had proceeded to disconnect. The business had been unable to trade since and Zoe was struggling financially.
When the EHU contacted her supplier they agreed to investigate the circumstances and consider her for their Trust Fund. It was agreed she would be eligible for the fund, meaning the current balance would be written off after paying 3 months of invoices.
A direct debit was put in place to cover the ongoing invoices and the electricity supply was reconnected the same day.
