The Extra Help Unit team works hard year-round to support individuals and micro-businesses who might be considered vulnerable to resolve issues with their energy suppliers. Beyond that, we work with suppliers and industry stakeholders to raise standards across the industry.
Some of our recent work includes:
- Case studies from the EHU were included in the Citizens Advice April 2018 report ‘Switched on - Improving support for prepayment consumers who’ve self disconnected’
In January 2018 we attended an energy summit hosted by the Scottish Government where the ‘big six’ energy companies were urged to offer more support for vulnerable consumers.
Case studies from the EHU were included in the Ofgem reports 'Vulnerable consumers in the energy market 2018' and 'Vulnerable consumers in the retail energy market 2017'
